Havana, May 5 (Prensa Latina) With 78 new medical discharges, the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 in Cuba rose to 954, the Public Health Ministry said on Monday.

Francisco Duran, director of Epidemiology of that entity, reported the total figure in the daily press conference to update on the impact of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus in Cuba.

The total number of recoveries represents 56.6 percent of the 1,685 confirmed cases of the disease in Cuba, said the doctor, who reported 17 new cases after the 2,169 tests conducted the day before.

Duran underlined there were no deaths yesterday, and the number of deaths from the deadly disease in the country was 69.

On the other hand, Duran affirmed that of the patients diagnosed with the illness, 652 present stable clinical evolution, two were evacuated to their countries of origin, and there are three in critical condition and five serious.

Once again, the doctor called on the population to maintain protective measures and follow the guidelines of the authorities to stop the spread of the coronavirus
