Cuba reached, this April 26, the figure of one million international visitors received, informed Juan Carlos García Granda, head of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), in his account in X.
This result, he said, was achieved a few days before the start of the 42nd International Tourism Fair (fitCuba 2024), from May 1 to 5, in Jardines del Rey, dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean and nautical products.
Previously, the National Bureau of Statistics and Information highlighted that, at the end of March, 809,238 visitors had arrived, mostly from Canada, as the first issuer, in addition to the Cuban community abroad, Russia, the United States, Germany, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain and Argentina.
Cuba aims to surpass three million visitors in 2024, a year that, according to García Granda, will see a recovery compared to 2023, and for which the conditions are in place.
On the other hand, this Monday will take place the seminar “Enhancing tourism development through innovation in community tourism”, prior to the 69th meeting of the UN Regional Commission on Tourism for the Americas, to be held on April 30.
