bus to go to Washington DC for the July 25 action to greet brother Carlos Lazo

Dear NY-NJ Cuba Si Activists and Supporters:

Thanks to the initiative of brothers Carlito R and John M we are securing a bus to go to Washington DC for the July 25 action to greet brother Carlos Lazo and the Cuban-American Bridges of Love Caravan movement in their walk from Miami against the blockade.

With the new post-July 11 situation and the mobilizations and threats from right-wing pro-US intervention Cuban-American forces with a perceived momentum from the anti-Cuba policies of the Biden Administration, this DC action, and other Caravans taking place on 7-25, is our first national response to this new round and wave of US anti-Cuba aggression. (Our sister Nancy Cabrero from Casa de las Americas and Cuba Si will be one of the co-chairs for this historic action.)

Additionally we are taking security extremely seriously and a preparing the necessary physical and political defense of our right to hold a peaceful, legal demonstration. We have all the necessary permits but we do expect a sizable right-wing presence with their usual aggressive provocations and so on. A SIZABLE CONTINGENT FROM NEW YORK-NEW JERSEY TO ADD INDIVIDUALS TO THE SECURITY TEAM WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT.

The bus will either be a 49 or 56 seater and will leave from a central location in Harlem or Washington Heights early Sunday morning. We will finalize details at our Wednesday Cuba Si meeting, the invitation for which is below. The cost will be $20-40 per person depending on donations we can raise to subsidize folks with less funds. The challenge now is to fill the bus. Please respond to this email ASAP to reserve a place so we can compile a reliable list.

DOWN WITH THE BLOCKADE!
JOIN US IN DC JULY 25!

in solidarity,
Ike Nahem
